Update

As most of you know, I'm not a big blogger, but I just thought I'd give a little update on what's been going on. First, Mitch and I had a great time on our vacation to the Southwest. We again visited the Grand Canyon, only this time it didn't snow, we weren't limited to only an hour at the canyon and we didn't have to spend four hours on a bus from Las Vegas. We stayed in Williams, AZ and took the Grand Canyon Railroad to the canyon, and were able to stay for over three hours. The train ride was great, with entertainment provided to pass the time. Once I get myself motivated, I'll post pictures of this entire trip. We saw a lot of great things, and really had a good time.

The drawback to the entire trip tho was that two days before we were leaving, I tripped over a rolled up rug on my back porch, landing squarely on my left shoulder. After sitting on the couch with ice applied, I couldn't take the pain anymore and drove myself to the emergency room. X-rays showed that I had fractured my shoulder, and the ER recommended I follow up with an orthopedist. Being as it was a Friday and I was leaving on Sunday, I told them that I'd certainly do that. . .when I got back. Good things (well, not good, but things in my favor) about this was that it was my left shoulder and I'm right-handed, and I didn't have to go thru the security scanner at the airports since I couldn't lift my arm - they just let me walk right through. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt so they could see the massive bruise convinced them, I guess, that I wasn't trying to pull one over on them. I did follow up with the orthopedist when I got back and will start physical therapy on Tuesday so my shoulder doesn't freeze. I'm not looking forward to that, but it has to be done.

One of the best things to come about over the last few weeks is that after years of trying and two IVF treatments, my youngest, Lauren, is finally pregnant! We're all ecstatic about this fantastic news, and can't wait until November when the baby is born. Nicky and Arianna will have a new cousin to play with, and I'll have a new grandbaby to cuddle. No one cares if the baby is a boy or a girl, either!

The day I tripped on the back porch was the last day that I worked my job. I had had enough of that place and decided two weeks prior that enough was enough. I'll be looking for something else as soon as my shoulder heals.

So that's about it for now. Hope all is good with all of you.

  3. Hi Honey. I'm so pleased for Lauren and Joell, after all their previous disappointment :-))

I can understand why you're not looking forward to the physical therapy on your arm, but as you said....it has to be done. I'll just be glad when it's fully healed and it's no longer so painful.

  7. Aha, I read your Facebook status wrong, thought it was Mitch that hit you? No seriously, you poor thing, I know how sore that is. Remember well being bucked off Samoraj, broken shoulder and collar bone, shards of bone sticking out t-shirt. Crumbs even weeks after and with the sling, could hardly breathe. Now with cold weather coming the shoulder ache and I set off the metal detector at all stores with the 2 pins. LOL

Lauren is pregnant? Wow, the bestest news ever! Congratulations to them. So very pleased for you all. Will keep them in my prayers and you too for speedy healing.

More news? Goodness, job change too now. Well, then you might as well look in Wales, me thinks, then you closer to Mitch???

Hugs you tight. Catch you over on FB.
